Anger is my motto

Summary

Tereza's interest in design sparked when she took a role to design a course website during the college strike. When she moved to Sāo Paolo to work and learn about graphic design, she found the gender discrimination in the design field, so she realized that she need to educate herself in order to overcome this discrimination.

Another discrimination that she found in the design field is the class discrimination. There was a group of designers lobbying for the Senate to approve a law that recognizes only people with university degree as a legal designers. So, Tereza and her friend, Guilherem created a space/community with people who were similarly unhappy with this elitist idea.

During the early pandemic of Covid, people were selling online workshops and courses for a lot of money, which Tereza couldn't understand. From this circumstances, Tereza created a book club specific to design, Club do Livro do Design. Book club was successful, and realized that the design books in Portuguese are very limited.

Club do Livro do Design morphed into a publishing house, and published their first book titled “Natural Enemies of Books” by the MMS collective. It was a perfect book for their first publish, because it was about feminism, gender issues in design, doesn't ignore class and different race.
